Dr. Han (PI) has been awarded an NSF HBCU Excellence in Research (EiR) grant for the project "Excellence in Research: Direct Ink Writing of Continuous Fiber-reinforced Smart Composites: Adaptive Processing with Sustainable Design Integration" . This project is a collaboration with Dr. Guoying Dong (Co-PI) from the University of Colorado Denver.

Anika has received an NSF Travel Award to attend the 2025 International Advanced Manufacturing Research Conference (NAMRC 53/MSEC 2025), which will be held in Greenville, SC, from June 23–27, 2025. Congratulations, Anika!

AMIL has received a new NSF grant for the project "NLI: Research: Integrating Sustainability into Industrial and Systems Engineering Curriculum" . The project is led by Dr. Steven Jiang (PI), with co-PIs Dr. Paul Stanfield, Dr. Lauren Davis, Prof. Vernal Alford, and Dr. Han. Congratulations to the ISE team!

Dr. Han presented AMIL’s collaborative work on low-carbon logistics networks enabled by additive manufacturing of reconfigurable products at the 2024 Manufacturing Science & Engineering Conference (MSEC) in Knoxville, TN.

Dr. Han was recently recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) with the 2023 “Outstanding Achievement in Energy Engineering” Award as an Industrial Training and Assessment Centers (ITACs) Alumni. From 2019 to 2023, she was a team member of the DOE-ITAC at the University of Illinois Chicago, contributing to a wide range of industrial assessment projects. Prior to this recognition, she received the IAC Student Certificate for her exemplary participation.

Dr. Han (PI) has received Seed Grant funding through the Provost’s Faculty Fellows Program at North Carolina A&T State University for the project “Fostering a Sustainable and Circular Path: Additive Manufacturing of Stimuli-Responsive Structures,” in collaboration with Dr. Salil Desai.
